Another hobby I am into is leather working. I stared a few years ago and discovered I like creating my own leather goods. I’ve created a few different things at this point. I’ve shared some pictures of some of my favorites. I have a custom laptop case, belt, and wallet. The laptop case is redwing leather with a buffalo leather handle and flap and a pig suede liner. It seems to protect my laptop quite well. My wallet and belt are both buffalo and horse leather. I’ve also reupholstered an old chair with some soft Italian leather. The same leather I used on my custom recliner. Another handy little project I’ve done was a custom strap for my Vive VR headset. That is a combination of a Miller welting helmet strap, some 3D printed parts, and my leather strap which has guides for the different cables and a snap down to hold my headphones in place. I also created a couple of custom leather breathing masks that have snaps in a front panel that holds in a replaceable filter. The straps that holds the masks on go on over and behind the head instead of over the ears like a lot of masks. I’ve done a few other projects too, but these are just some of my favorites. I would like to spend time creating a lot more stuff in the future. I find leather working quite a relaxing hobby.
